“The fish caught in Fukuoka’s Genkai Sea are truly exceptional,” says Nagama. “I want travelers and visitors from abroad to experience that deliciousness firsthand.” That passion inspired this special dish - thick, tender fillets of Fukuoka sea bream grilled slowly to perfection and topped with a rich, buttery mentaiko sauce. This dish transcends the boundaries of typical izakaya fare, offering both depth and refinement. Fresh mentaiko placed on top provides a delicate pop, while the lightly cooked mentaiko in the sauce adds contrast in texture and flavor.
This two-story izakaya features counter and table seating on the first floor and traditional tatami rooms upstairs. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of dishes made with seafood from the Genkai Sea, regional specialties from across Kyushu, and an excellent selection of local sake — all at reasonable prices.
