“The fish caught in Fukuoka’s Genkai Sea are truly delicious,” says Nagama. “I want travelers and visitors from abroad to discover that.” That passion inspired this special dish — thick, tender fillets of Fukuoka sea bream grilled slowly to perfection, topped with a rich and mellow mentaiko butter sauce. The dish goes beyond the boundaries of typical izakaya fare, offering both depth and elegance. The fresh mentaiko placed on top adds a delicate pop, while the slightly cooked mentaiko in the sauce gives a contrasting texture and flavor.
This two-story izakaya offers counter and table seating on the first floor and tatami rooms upstairs. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of dishes made with seafood from the Genkai Sea, regional specialties from across Kyushu, and an excellent selection of local sake — all at reasonable prices.
