At Matsunaga Suisan, each order is freshly prepared: the squid is taken from the tank and quickly cleaned to serve as live sashimi. Its translucent body, firm yet tender texture, and the natural sweetness that comes out with each bite are proof of its freshness. “Both the popularity and the taste of Fukuoka squid are top class!” says Mr. Matsunaga with a smile. You’re guaranteed to be impressed by the flavor of Fukuoka’s locally caught squid. Additional preparation costs 300 JPY.
The restaurant’s signature dishes feature seafood from Fukuoka and other parts of Kyushu. In the indoor tanks, squid, conger eel, and other seafood sourced from specialized suppliers swim freely, guaranteeing freshness. The menu also offers a wide variety of dishes beyond seafood.
