After working at hotels and other establishments in Fukuoka City, he opened tanabata cafe in 2022 in his hometown of Yanagawa. In the same year, he took over the business of Mayoiyaki Den-chan, preserving and carrying forward its traditional flavors.

Kaitenyaki is a traditional Japanese sweet, similar to a pancake filled with sweet red bean paste. Building on this classic treat, Mayoiyaki offers 16 different flavors beyond the traditional anko, featuring ingredients such as cheese, corn, bacon, and kimchi. For over 30 years, it has been cherished as a local soul food in Yanagawa. Now, for a limited time, a new creation is available—combining Yanagawa’s specialty seaweed, Fukuoka Ariake Nori, with rich cheese. This unique pairing highlights the surprisingly perfect harmony between seaweed and cheese.

Mayoiyaki Den-chan
